CLASSES                          17th to 25th JULY

FESTIVAL MARKETS       23rd to 25th JULY

About the Festival

Townsville is host to the inaugural BEAD, GLASS & CRAFT FESTIVAL which will be held 17 - 25 July 2010 at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre. The festival is the first of its kind to be held in Australia. The 9-day festival will be packed with something exciting and new for all glass and bead enthusiasts. Participants will be amazed by some of the most renowned hot glass, flame work and wirework jewellery on show.

A number of artists, from around the world are participating in this inaugural event, as well as some well known and up and coming Australian artists. All artists will be facilitating a number of classes to cater for everyone from beginners through to the most advanced. No festival in Australia has presented such a wide range of classes at one place at the same time.

These classes have been programmed over the 9 days of the Festival which will also feature a super market for the last three days. At the market there will be exhibitors from Australia and America. Stall holders from all around Australia will be selling and displaying an exciting range of items.

Townsville North Queensland provides a wonderful backdrop for the festival with its beautiful tropical scenery, lovely warm weather and also so many things to do and see when not participating in your classes. It is the largest tropical city in Australia.  Its natural landscape is diverse, ranging from cool highland rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef to the dry open outback.
