After a thirteen year career as a high
school and college instructor, Connie began to work in stained
glass in 1979. In 1982, a fellow employee in a stained glass
store in Denver stayed after the work day to demonstrate using a
small copper enamelling kiln to fuse and slaump glass. That
first experience ignited an insatiable interest in continuously
learning, experimenting, and using that teaching experience to
share this excitement of “making glass move.”
Petroglyphs – 2 day class
Using copper tubing, copper came, scrap glass, fused pieces,
kiln-made rondels and found objects, you will create a
petroglyph such as a turtle, lizard, dragonfly, etc.
Slab Jewelry – 2 day class
Make a slab from 1/8-1/4 inch strips of both clear and black
back dichroic glass. From this fused slab, we will cut intricate
designs for pendants, pens, and earrings using a ring saw.
Contemporary Scenic Table Lamp – 2 day class
With just a few simple cutting and soldering skills, you will
create a table lamp unlike any other. This three sided lamp is
made with 3 basic pieces of glass, copper foil to create scenes
on each side (inside and out), tree branches to construct the
support instead of a lamp base.
Stringer Bowls and Stringer Pictures – 2 day class
1 mm. stringers make easy but elegant bowls. However, these same
stringers can be used to create a stained glass picture that
appears as delicate as bead work or cross stitch.
