Jayne
Persico
Jayne Persico has work in stained glass, kiln formed glass and
hot glass for more that thirty years and has been a
popular workshop speaker for over a decade.
Credited in books,
magazines and on national television for her work, she is widely
known for her glass design and groundbreaking finishing
techniques, particularly in bracelets and watches.
As
innovator of the kiln formed bracelet technique and her
trademarked
glass embossing system, Jayne has also developed the precision
tools that support these procedures.
She
is a partner and developer for Colour de Verre, a company that
produces reusable glass casting molds for the art glass
industry.
She is the author of Innovative
Adornments: An Introduction To Fused Glass and Wired Jewelry,

Bracelets, Jayne Persico presents Kiln Casting and
Jayne
Persico presents Illuminated Art Glass. She has produced
six instructional videos on fusing, glass & wire jewelry
designs and kiln forming.
Recently
acknowledge by Waterford Crystal for her achievements, Jayne was
invited to work with their designers in Ireland to incorporate
her bracelet technique into their crystal. She is also involved
with Crystal Studio Ireland, an educational glass program in
Ireland. Her unique work is represented in galleries in the
United States and internationally and she continues to present
her products and techniques to glass artist around the
world.
Kiln Formed Bracelets-2 Days
–
Explore the fascinating art of kiln formed
bracelets and watches from the developer of this technique,
Jayne Persico.
In this hands-on, comprehensive
course you will learn the fundamentals of designing, cutting,
layering and firing.
Jayne will also lead you through
sizing and bracelet forming and introduce you to wiring
techniques for complementing and finishing your designs. The
manipulation of glass forms, using bracelet molds and tools
designed by Jayne, will be a particular focus.
As a result you will create several
beautiful bracelets and stunning watchbands and come away with a
through knowledge of forming bracelets in the kiln. This is a
beginner/intermediate class open to students with basic glass
cutting skills.
Kiln
Casting with Colour de Verre – 2 Days
Innovator, Jayne Persico will present the
basic foundations of the ancient and re-emerging art of Pate de
Verre.
She
will provide you with an invaluable
background for making exquisite pate de verre components that
will be incorporated into a beautiful sculptural glass forms.
This workshop will focus on the process of color development,
mixing, weighing and filling the component molds with frit. It
will also cover mold preparation and firing schedules.
After the components are cast they
will be fused onto a base piece of glass and slumped.
This is an intermediate class
requiring some fusing experience.
Jayne Persico will be running 4 classes at the festival.
